Austin
GO REPAIR! Grant Program

This smaller‑scale program provides up to $7,500 in grants to fix immediate health or safety threats—such as leaking gas lines, electrical hazards, decaying roofs, or collapsing floors. Available to homeowners within city limits earning ≤ 80% MFI, with no repayment required
Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) – Home Repairs
While not city‑specific, both Austin and San Antonio are covered by TVC’s Fund for Veterans’ Assistance. This grants nonprofits (like Meals on Wheels and Easterseals) funding to provide:
Critical home repairs (plumbing, electrical, flooring, walls)
Accessibility modifications (ramps, handrails, walkways, door widening)
Weatherization improvements (doors, windows, siding, roofing)
These grants support veterans and their families, and local nonprofits use them to serve veteran homeowners in the area
Honoring Service with Action: Mr. Wayne’s Story
At Right 1 LLC, every project has a purpose—but some carry a little more weight. One of those was our recent work for Mr. Wayne, a proud U.S. military veteran living in the Rio Grande Valley. His home, though full of memories, had suffered years of wear: sinking foundation, damaged siding, a leaking roof, and doors that no longer sealed properly.
Through the TVC (Texas Veterans Commission) Home Repair Grant, we were able to help Mr. Wayne restore safety, dignity, and comfort to his home—at no cost to him. The grant, designed to support veterans in need of critical home repairs, covered essential work like:
Re-leveling the home’s foundation
Full siding replacement
Roof repair with long-lasting materials
New exterior doors for insulation and security
What made this project special wasn’t just the repairs—it was the opportunity to give back to someone who’s given so much.
We worked closely with Mr. Wayne to make the process smooth, fast, and respectful from start to finish. The result? A safer, stronger, and better-looking home that he can be proud of.
🏠 Project Backstory: Austin, TX – GoBond Roof Restoration
This single-story home located in northeast Austin, TX was showing clear signs of roof fatigue — faded shingles, algae streaks, and minor granule loss from decades of sun exposure and Texas weather. The homeowner had reported minor leaks and rising utility bills due to poor attic ventilation, making this roof a prime candidate for replacement.
Thanks to the City of Austin’s GoBond Program, which funds critical home repairs for eligible residents, this home received a 100% covered roof upgrade through our certified roofing company. The project was approved under the Home Repair Assistance Program, ensuring not only a safer home but improved energy efficiency and long-term durability for the resident.
🛠️ Scope of Work Included:
Full tear-off of old 3-tab asphalt shingles
Installation of new black 3-tab architectural shingles for a dimensional, modern look
New roofing exhaust vents and pipe jackets for proper attic ventilation
Seamless gutters and downspouts to prevent water damage and pooling
Ridge caps and flashing installed for a clean, durable finish
🚁 Before & After Transformation:
We captured the transformation using a drone to highlight the sharp contrast between the weathered, dull brown shingles and the crisp, bold finish of the new black system. Each detail was professionally installed to city code and GoBond inspection standards.
